The Gallery

Abstract Art Maria Ruisi is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2010 by artist Maria Ruisi, PhD engineer specialized in advanced texture research, materials and visual perception.

For over 16 years, the gallery has developed a distinctive and refined artistic approach at the intersection of science, material and emotion.

Each creation emerges from a deep exploration where light, surface and relief become living elements interacting with space.

The gallery embodies a contemporary vision of art where each work transcends aesthetics to become a presence, a vibration, a lasting sensory experience.

Maria Ruisi Founder Artist

Born in May 1983, Maria Ruisi is a contemporary artist and PhD engineer recognized for her exceptional mastery of textures, relief compositions and light interaction.

Since early childhood, she has developed an instinctive sensitivity to material, later enriched through a rigorous scientific approach, resulting in a rare artistic practice that is both highly technical and deeply intuitive.

Through advanced techniques combining acrylic painting, relief structures and sculptural compositions, she creates artworks where material is shaped with precision, tension and balance. Her works are not static; they are conceived as evolving structures, capable of transforming subtly over time.

Light moves across the surface, revealing hidden nuances. Reliefs intensify, textures gain density, and the artwork gradually acquires deeper visual complexity. Each piece becomes a living entity, offering a constantly renewed visual experience.
Natasha Tarasenko – Contemporary Artist

Born on April 7, 1985 in Riga, Natasha Tarasenko is a contemporary artist working between Riga and Dubai.

Her work is rooted in a refined minimalist approach, characterized by balance, purity and controlled textures. Through carefully composed structures, she develops a precise visual language where each element is intentional and essential.

Her artworks create silent yet powerful atmospheres, where light and material interact subtly, revealing evolving variations over time.

Her practice integrates advanced techniques and a deep understanding of materials, resulting in works that are structured, harmonious and timeless.
Inès Rouissi – Mediterranean Research Artist

Born on January 25, 1977, Inès Rouissi develops a distinctive artistic approach deeply rooted in the Mediterranean world, at the intersection of research, material, and spatial perception.

From an early age, she has explored the interactions between interior and exterior environments, developing both an instinctive and analytical understanding of volumes, textures, and atmospheres.

Her work is driven by continuous research, where each creation becomes a living study of the relationships between light, structure, and perception. Through a practice that is both intuitive and methodical, she creates compositions where balance, fluidity, and visual coherence are central.

Her artworks are characterized by their ability to generate immersive and natural atmospheres, inspired by Mediterranean landscapes and their sensory richness. Each piece becomes an evolving experience, designed to interact with its environment and transform subtly over time.

Nejla Rouissi

Born December 6, 1988. Doctor-engineer, researcher, and multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of science, technology, and artistic creation. A university lecturer in computer science, Nejla Rouissi develops a distinctive visual language rooted in abstraction, systemic complexity, and the invisible structures shaping human experience.

Her works translate the tension between logic and emotion into precise, layered compositions, where relief, texture, and depth operate as living systems. Moving effortlessly across all formats and techniques — from intimate canvases to monumental sculptural reliefs — she adapts each medium to her inner vision with rare technical authority.

Her parallel practice of trapeze and aerial hoop extends her research into physical space, where movement, suspension, and balance become a living extension of her artistic language.

Her work embodies a contemporary and international vision, where scientific thought, embodied movement, and abstraction converge into a powerful and distinctive signature. Represented by Abstract Art Gallery, founded in Riga in 2010.
Redisa Lena – Contemporary Baltic Artist

Born in Riga, Latvia, 1963 Redisa Lena is a Latvian contemporary artist born in Riga, whose work captures the silence, light and poetic atmosphere of the Baltic coast. Her path is exceptional.

Trained as an engineer with two higher technical degrees, she worked as a designer at the legendary VEF factory in Riga, then specialised in industrial design and energy engineering.
This rigorous scientific foundation gives her paintings a rare structural precision and emotional depth — a quality that distinguishes her in contemporary art.
Since 2005, painting has become the central force of her life.

In 2008 she studied drawing under N. Uvarov. In 2011 she joined the studio of Professor Vladimir Kozin of the Latvian Academy of Arts — one of the most respected artistic mentors in Latvia.
The most experienced artist of the Abstract Art Gallery roster, Redisa Lena brings decades of combined expertise and artistic sensitivity to each canvas.

SAMIA KERKENI
Contemporary Artist – Exploring Matter, Colour and Movement

Born in 1980, Samia Kerkeni develops an artistic approach in which matter becomes an emotional language in its own right. Her universe is defined by a deep investigation into textures, fluid movements and the interactions between light and colour.

A doctor and researcher in her field, she brings to her artistic practice a spirit of permanent exploration. This singular sensitivity allows her to create abstract works where every relief, every nuance and every contrast contributes to a fully immersive visual experience.

Inspired by natural forces — oceans, invisible currents and the metamorphoses of matter — Samia Kerkeni composes works in which energy flows freely across the surface. Deep blues, luminous turquoises, brilliant whites and mineral accents create compositions that are at once powerful, elegant and timeless.

Each creation is born from a slow and masterful process — layer by layer, gesture by gesture — where technique meets emotion and texture becomes a true artistic signature. Every work is an invitation to contemplation, offering each viewer the freedom to discover their own story within it.

Her works are part of the international selection of Abstract Art Gallery, a gallery specialising in contemporary art and high-end textural creations.

“Matter is never still. It holds the memory of the gesture, the light and the emotion that brought it into being.” — Samia Kerkeni
